The BayCruiser 26 from Swallow Yachts offers a unique combination of stunning performance and ground breaking accommodation. As you expect from Swallow Yachts, she is every bit the classic looker and is simple to launch, recover, and trail.
Performance
All Swallow yachts have to sail superbly and this recent addition to our range is no exception. Dont let the traditional lines deceive you – under water she is thoroughly modern with drop keel and twin rudders. She has a carbon mast as standard, with fractional rig and fat head mainsail to provide optimum efficiency and effortless performance. She features an innovative ballast system comprising a lead tip to a drop keel in addition to our well proven water ballast system. This keeps her stable and secure in heavier weather but fun and fast in light winds, when the ballast can be jettisoned.
Accommodation
The distinctive cabin shape gives a huge amount of space inside, with large windows giving a panoramic view when sailing or in harbour. A comfortable bunk height with no centreboard case makes stretching out easy on the two full length berths in the saloon. A large sliding galley to starboard stows away neatly to free up more saloon space when not cooking, and a sliding compartment under the bridge deck provides space for a fridge and other storage. Further forward, an enclosed head makes use of the drop keel case to disguise this otherwise obtrusive feature. A full size vee berth forward brings the sleeping complement to four berths
Tow Her Anywhere!
The BayCruiser 26 is one of the largest boats available anywhere that has been designed from the outset to be towed. Her ample beam of 2.54m is within road width limits but she has so many other features designed to make trailering easy and fast. For example her type approved trailer has been designed from the outset to make launch and recovery very straightforward. Her carbon mast has a special tabernacle system that means the mast is supported athwartships when raising and lowering using the standard cockpit winches and asymmetric halyard. The boom is mounted on the mast using a cassette system that keeps all the sliders, reef points, outhaul and kicker controls tidy, with no need to un-thread any of them when lowering the mast. There is even a purpose built aft stanchion to support the lowered mast, (doubling as a safety support) and special clips on the bowsprit to hold the base of the mast when trailing.
These features make trailing so much faster and less hassle, and because she has plenty of room to spend extended holidays on board, you have the capability to go much further afield and visit some of the worlds most beautiful cruising grounds.
